Westland Insurance showcases commitment to community in 2023 Impact Report

Westland Insurance has released its 2023 community impact report, highlighting the company’s efforts in supporting community well-being and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across Canada.

The report outlines Westland’s strategic approach towards making an impact in various spheres, such as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), wellness and mental health, housing and food insecurity, environmental sustainability, and community volunteerism.

A highlight of Westland Insurance’s achievements includes allocating nearly $1 million to local causes through sponsorships and donations and supporting over 350 community initiatives with employee volunteers.

Other highlights from the report include a new partnership with the Canadian Association of Black Insurance Professionals (CABIP) in a bid to improve opportunities for Black professionals within the insurance sector as well as continued collaboration with Adsum House in Atlantic Canada to construct energy-efficient, affordable housing.

The brokerage also revealed ongoing efforts to support climate resilience through The Nature Force initiative. It also made donations and participated in Pride events across the country.

“We’re forging a business that’s passionate about giving back, and that’s something I’m extremely proud to be a part of,” said Cari Watson, senior vice president for marketing and client experience at Westland.

“Through our employee volunteerism, sponsorships, and community initiatives, we’re supporting a bright future for all Canadians and will continue to do so year after year.”

Jamie Lyons, president and CEO of Westland Insurance, has affirmed the company’s intent towards empathy and integrity, not just within Westland but in communities it serves.
