Walkers adds ILS experienced Senior Associate Ellison in Bermuda

Global financial services focused law firm Walkers has made a new hire in Bermuda with insurance-linked securities (ILS) experience, adding Jack Ellison as a Senior Associate to the insurance team there.

Ellison specialises in transactional and regulatory matters, working to advise insurance and reinsurance carriers, intermediaries, investors and other key stakeholders on re/insurance related matters.

With particular experience in the insurance linked securities (ILS) market, Ellison further strengthens that area of Walkers Bermuda team.

Of course, with Bermuda the leading ILS and catastrophe bond domicile is is critical that law firms build-out deep expertise on the island to service the continued growth of the ILS market and Bermuda’s activities in facilitating it.

Ellison also has experience in advising clients on legal matters related to insurance and reinsurance mergers and acquisitions (M&A), intra-group reorganisations, equity and debt financings, corporate governance, and re/insurance regulation.

Before joining Walkers, Ellison worked as a legal associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher (UK) LLP in London in the corporate insurance and financial services team, advising large multinational re/insurance groups with a Bermuda nexus on high profile strategic M&A projects and restructurings.

While at Willkie, Ellison also provided advice on a variety of ILS transactions, including collateralized reinsurance, sidecars and catastrophe bonds.

Before joining the legal profession, Ellison was an underwriter for re/insurance carriers in both the London and Bermuda markets.
