The 2022 Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid marries a twin-turbocharged V-6 and an electric motor.
Total powertrain output stands at 536 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, putting the hybrid on a par with the turbocharged V-8.
The Flying Spur’s electric range, according to U.S. EPA protocol, hasn’t yet been settled (we estimate 21 miles), but Bentley says the car can travel in EV Drive mode at speeds up to 80 mph.
Recharging the Flying Spur’s 14.1-kWh battery takes two and a half hours.
The Flying Spur Hybrid’s visual giveaways are limited to “Hybrid” badges, quad exhaust outlets, and a charging port behind a flap in the left-rear fender.
Inside, the model gets hybrid-specific readouts in the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment screen.
The latter includes a clever EV Range overlay on the navigation system.
The hybrid cannot be had with rear-wheel steering or the 48-volt active anti-roll system available on other Flying Spurs.
The Flying Spur is the second Bentley PHEV, sharing much of its powertrain with the Bentayga Hybrid.
Bentley has said that by 2030, it will sell only EVs.
