Vesttoo has hired a Chief Financial Officer as it continues to add all-important expertise and depth to its executive bench, naming former Prudential and Goldman Sachs banker Gaurav Wadhwa to the position.

Just last week Vesttoo, the insurtech that uses proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning to help companies assess and transfer risks to the capital markets, with a particular focus on non-catastrophe insurance-linked securities (ILS), added legal expertise in the form of a Chief Legal Officer and Deputy to that position.

The company has begun to build out financial market professionals into senior roles as it expands its operations globally.

Wadhwa is the latest and joins Vesttoo with a pedigree gained from senior roles at large financial organisations.

He began his career as a senior consultant at Deloitte where he spent almost 5 years, before moving to investment bank Goldman Sachs becoming a Vice President, where he also spent 5 years.

Wadhwa then joined Prudential, where he spent 11 years holding diverse leadership roles from Corporate Development in the US and Asia, to CFO Investment and Pension Solutions and CFO for Asia ex-Japan, and most recently Head of US Finance and Analytics.

“Gaurav is uniquely suited to spearhead Vesttoo’s finances,” Yaniv Bertele, CEO and Founder of Vesttoo explained. “His experience and professional achievements speak volumes. He has a global mindset and an ability to lead complex financial processes. With Vesttoo’s rapid business expansion, we couldn’t ask for a better addition to our team.”

“I am delighted to join Vesttoo as CFO,” said Wadhwa. “Their pursuit to bridge the insurance and capital markets couldn’t come at a better time. I am excited to support the Company in executing its strategic plan and accelerating its growth.”

Vesttoo continues to expand its team and its insurance-linked investment offering. We recently interviewed Portfolio Manager Rob Hauff who explained how Vesttoo is working to unlock new categories of insurance and reinsurance risk for capital market investors.
