USQRisk names new head of casualty

CEO says appointment marks “newest chapter” in company’s expansion

USQRisk, an international managing general agent (MGA) specializing in in alternative risk transfer, has announced the appointment of Ashleigh Sears as its new head of casualty.

Sears joins USQRisk as it continues to expand its US operations. Her new role will primarily focus on broadening distribution networks, particularly through retail and wholesale broker channels. She will also contribute to scaling the company’s in-force structured casualty portfolio.

“We have seen incredible growth over the past few years, and that is largely due to the wealth of expertise we have on our team,” said Moreno. “The addition of Ashleigh will only further enhance our capabilities as we seek to provide solutions to some of the toughest underwriting challenges in the market.”

Before joining USQRisk, Sears spent time at The Hartford Insurance Company as the Northeast division leader of Hartford Excess Solutions. Her background also includes over seven years at Navigators Management Company, where she held the roles of vice president for the Northeast and assistant vice president, regional manager for New England.

Commenting on her new role, Sears said she is excited to work with an MGA that will enable her to continue providing unique solutions to clients.

“I’m thrilled to be joining this dynamic team and for the opportunity to bring our bespoke solutions to more of the market as risks continue to grow in complexity and clients seek out new alternatives to their risk placement needs,” she said.”

Sears holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Pennsylvania State University. She was previously involved in the Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) and the Hartford Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Board.
