What products does United Home Life Insurance offer?

While there isn’t much information on their website regarding rates, United Home Life Insurance Company provides quite a bit of information about what their policies cover.

Mainly focusing on final life expenses, United Home Life also writes policies for whole life insurance as well as term life.

Here are the available options for final death expenses:

Express Issue Whole Life policySimplified issue life insurance; no medical exam is required; coverage for up to $100,000This plan is a graded death benefit plan; includes several no-cost riders: Identity Theft Waiver of Premium, Common Carrier Accidental Death, and Hospital Stay Waiver of Premium

You should note that for the first two years of the death benefit coverage, you will receive all premiums paid plus interest. After three years, the full death benefit is payable. This allows those who may have riskier health histories — that are not traditionally covered by life insurance — to receive coverage more easily.

Term life insurance policies offered by the United Home Life Insurance Company typically provide coverage from $50,000 to $1 million that is available in term lengths of 10 to 30 years.

Does United Home Life insurance offer universal life insurance?

United Home Life Insurance Company does, in fact, offer universal life insurance with flexible rates and coverage amounts. These policies will accrue cash value interest in a tax-deferred account, with some policies even offering a guaranteed return interest rate.

Keep in mind that these types of policies may incur additional fees as well as monthly fees and expenses.

What kinds of riders are available?

There are various types of options in regard to riders on your policy. Riders are usually considered an additional add-on to existing policies. However, there are a few policies (as mentioned previously) that come with riders that do not include any additional costs.

Here are some available rider products:

Accelerated Death Benefit Rider. There is a payout of up to $300,000 for an accelerated death benefit if you become terminally ill with a life expectancy of 12 months or less.
Cost of Living Rider. It increases coverage annually, based on the consumer price index (CPI).
Scheduled Increase Option Rider. It increases the amount of coverage on your policy (up to $100,000 more) without having to repeat the underwriting process.
Disability Waiver of Premium. This will pay policy premiums if you become permanently disabled or unable to work before the age of 60 (rider expires after the age of 65).
Disability Income Rider. This provides monthly income to assist with expenses if you become permanently disabled before the age of 65.
Children’s Insurance Rider. This offers term life insurance for dependent children up to age 25 (can be converted to permanent life insurance after the age of 25).
Guaranteed No-Lapse Rider. This guarantees coverage of a permanent life policy for a specific length of time (up to a lifetime of coverage).
Living Benefit Rider. This will automatically be included on policies with a minimum of $50,000 in death benefits and can be paid out as an accelerated death benefit if the policyholder becomes terminally or chronically ill. This payout can be made in a lump sum or a series of regularly scheduled payments.
Return of Premium Rider. This is available to permanent life policyholders and can access the cash surrender value of the policy to whichever is equal to the premiums already paid.
Spouse Insurance Rider. This offers the ability to insure your spouse on your policy.
Term Rider. This can add term coverage to your policy for any additions.

Unfortunately, United Home Life Insurance Company does not offer quotes on its website. Therefore, the rates for adding riders to your policy will depend on what you qualify for.

United Home Life Insurance Company sells policies exclusively through agents, but independent reviews have suggested rates of approximately $60 a month for a $20,000 whole life policy.
