W. R. Berkley Corporation has announced the immediate appointment of Antonio Q. L. Rhodes as president of Berkley Mid-Atlantic Insurance Group (BMAG).

With nearly two decades of experience in the property & casualty insurance sector, Rhodes brings a wealth of expertise to the role.

Prior to his appointment, he served as executive vice president and head of property & casualty at a major agency network and brokerage firm, overseeing programs and central placement as well as large and complex insurance portfolios nationwide.

W. Robert Berkley, Jr., president and chief executive of W. R. Berkley Corporation, expressed confidence in Rhodes’ ability to contribute to BMAG’s success.

BMAG provides tailored insurance solutions, focusing on local businesses.

In July, W. R. Berkley Corporation named Lucas Prahl, Jr. president of Berkley Human Services.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Lucas to our organization as president of Berkley Human Services,” Berkley said at the time. “His extensive knowledge and experience will be instrumental as the business continues to move forward.”

Trading since 1967, W. R. Berkley Corporation operates worldwide in two segments within property & casualty: insurance and reinsurance & monoline excess. The group is among the biggest commercial lines writers in the US.

Earlier this year, W. R. Berkley Corporation’s Union Standard Insurance Group rebranded to Berkley Southwest.

“As one of the earliest additions to Berkley’s portfolio of 60 businesses, it has exemplified the value of our decentralized model,” Berkley highlighted in March. “The knowledgeable and talented team at Berkley Southwest is building upon a strong foundation, and we look forward to their continued success.”
