The World Needs More Supercharged Lincoln Town Cars

Lincoln has a reputation for producing cars that appeal to an older crowd, and the Town Car was the brand’s last “traditional” large rear wheel drive American sedan. This particular 2006 Lincoln Town Car on Cars And Bids has a few aftermarket modifications that nudge it from a blue haired barge to a total sleeper that can ferry the family around. This Town Car’s list of modifications is extensive, with the biggest shocker being the Vortech V-3 supercharger kit. All the modifications add up to nearly double the car’s original horsepower numbers, and a thoroughly beefed up driveline should keep things running smoothly.

The Lincoln Town Car came stock with a 4.6-liter V8, similar to the one that powered the Ford Mustang GT of the time, but the Vortech supercharger transforms this Town Car’s engine into a total beast. Other drivetrain modifications include a 110-octane tune, upgraded crankshaft, pistons, cylinder heads, camshafts, engine mounts, fuel injectors and much more. It also has an intercooler, a set of long-tube exhaust headers, billet upper and lower control arms, and front sport bucket seats finished in matching Light Camel leather. These comprehensive upgrades should keep this sleeper running smoothly for a long time.

In its current state, this Town Car is rocking Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag tires on the rear, wrapped around 18-inch Shelby-GT500-look wheels that fit the look of the car well. Flaws mentioned include 2008 dated front tires which the new owner will want to replace asap, some rust on underbody components, loose carpet and a traction control light that’s on since the current owner disabled the system. Since it’s so highly modified, it’s not likely to meet every state’s emissions regulations, so buyer beware. If that’s not a worry for you, then you should buy this comprehensively modded Town Car and put the smackdown on unsuspecting stoplight challengers.

I know if I were to see this Town Car on the street I wouldn’t know what secrets lie beneath the hood, and though the exhaust is loud, it doesn’t necessarily give away its extensive mods. Aside from the hood bulge and the aftermarket wheels, the exterior doesn’t signal much either. If you’re looking for a fun, fast, loud, and reasonably practical new car, buy this Lincoln. It might be called a Town Car, but whether it’s cruising around town or tearing up the local drag strip, it’s certainly a unique build.
