Texas Mutual Insurance Company is once again investing in non-profits in the state, with the workers’ compensation insurance provider setting aside $8 million for distribution this year.
The funding aims to enhance generational learning, workforce development, and safety training by supporting non-profit organizations focused on these areas for a fourth consecutive year.
The grants will be awarded via two request-for-proposal cycles – the first one on generational impact and the second on workforce development and safety training.
Applications for the first cycle will open on April 15; the second cycle on August 19.
Texas Mutual noted: “Grant amounts will vary by market and organization size. Applicants are recommended to request funding between $25,000 and $100,000 unless otherwise advised.
“To be eligible for grant funding, organizations are required to be based in Texas, be a 501(c)(3) designated organization, and demonstrate they are actively delivering assistance and services to Texas communities.”
Jackie Sekiguchi (pictured), community affairs manager at Texas Mutual, said the community funding is “a testament to the strength” of the company’s business and commitment to bolstering communities.
“The grants will help ensure Texas non-profits have the necessary resources to flourish and grow,” Sekiguchi noted. “We’re proud to support stronger, safer, and more resilient communities for generations to come.”
Since 2016, Texas Mutual has contributed over $60 million to community-based projects across the state.
