TAL, an insurance company, had announced new appointments to its executive team, specifically within the group life and retirement business, individual life business, and technology.
“These leadership appointments to group life and retirement, individual life and technology reflect TAL’s unwavering commitment to our customers and partners and I am delighted that it has been an obvious choice to appoint these roles from within TAL, reflecting our commitment to leadership development and succession planning,” said Brett Clark, TAL’s group CEO and managing director.
Jenny Oliver has been named chief executive for group life and retirement. She previously served as TAL’s chief claims officer. In her new role, she will be leading TAL’s partnerships with the superannuation community in providing life insurance solutions to superannuation fund members as well as the firm’s work in developing solutions that will support Australians in their retirement.
The firm will be undertaking a recruitment process to fill Oliver’s previous post. In the meantime, Oliver will continue providing executive oversight for the firm’s claims function.
After being a part of TAL for more than nine years and serving as its chief information and innovation officer for the last five, Fiona Macgregor has now been appointed as chief executive for individual life.
Macgregor succeeds Tim Thorne, who had previously taken up the role and had been in the firm for a decade. Thorne has decided to retire from his executive career and will be pursuing a non-executive portfolio after leading the firm’s individual business.
In Macgregor’s new role, she will be focusing on industry leadership in outcomes for customers and will be tasked to deliver value in the company’s partnerships with financial advisers and strategic alliance partners as well as provide Australians with access to high-quality life insurance solutions through the channels they choose.
Macgregor will also put emphasis on the digital enablement and delivery of the firm’s services in order to meet the needs and expectations of both customers and partners.
Hinesh Chauhan has been promoted from his role as executive general manager for technology role and will be TAL’s new chief information officer. In this role, he oversee the company’s technology function.
Chauhan, who joined the firm in 2018, will continue to focus on working with TAL’s technology partners in supporting business operations, meeting expectations for information and cybersecurity, and enhancing TAL’s customer and partner support through the use of existing and new technologies.
The appointments within the executive team will take effect immediately.
