Australian life insurer TAL has launched a learning and development platform for its superannuation fund partners.

The new initiative, called “TAL Insurance Academy,” offers TAL’s superannuation fund partners access to on-demand, expert education and training to support their teams.

Dan Taylor (pictured), general manager of partnerships at TAL, said the insurer is committed to partner excellence – supporting superannuation fund partners to have engagement with their members and enhancing the value those members derive from their fund.

“At TAL, our ambition is to make life insurance better understood and valued,” Taylor said. “In building the learning program, we consulted extensively with our partners to understand their training and people development needs and address those in our offering. From member-facing teams through to senior management and trustees, TAL Insurance Academy delivers a range of learning content to meet diverse user needs.”

More about TAL Insurance Academy

The academy’s traditional learning modules are combined with learning tools that can be fully embedded within a partner’s new employee onboarding programs and ongoing training.

The course content is delivered by subject matter experts and includes an overview of the Australian life insurance landscape and immersive masterclasses on key aspects of insurance in superannuation.

“With a focus on addressing industry challenges and opportunities, the masterclasses will explore topics including global and local trends, innovation, best practice, and health through fresh, engaging, and topical content,” Taylor said.

“The platform allows us to extend our support and complement the existing face-to-face training we provide to partners. This includes an extensive range of masterclasses on mental health conditions, recognising their impact on super fund members, and ensuring super fund teams are equipped to have informed conversations and provide targeted support.”
