Sorry To Ruin Your Day, But Mark Zuckerberg Has Great Taste In Cars

Elon Musk gets most of the hate around here due to his incessant need to force himself into the conversation every goddamn minute with yet another bigoted, hateful opinion. Plus, you know, there’s also all the problems Tesla’s had with sexual harassment, racism and worker injuries due to dangerous working conditions. Mark Zuckerberg deserves similar levels of hate, but he generally avoids anything having to do with transportation, so we don’t really cover him much. Except now he’s revealed his daily driver, and I’m sorry, but it kicks ass.

The Audi RS6 Avant GT Is One Wicked Wagon | First Drive

In an Instagram post showing off an update to Meta’s new smart glasses that only have a four-hour battery life, Hoonigan co-founder Brian Scotto asked what he drives. As one of the wealthiest people in the world, the obvious choice here would be for him to simply never drive on public roads ever again. Buy the fanciest luxury Sprinter you can get your hands on and don’t look back. Alternatively, since he’s rich as shit, maybe he dailies a Ferrari or something, right? Wrong. The dude mostly drives a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.

Now, he never mentioned whether his Blackwing is a manual or automatic, so I’m not going to force you to imagine Zuck driving a manual CT5-V Blackwing, but it’s also hard to wrap my mind around the genocide android doing anything remotely cool despite what the Washington Post would have you believe. The guy’s just a dork-ass loser who got his start with a creepier version of Hot or Not that nearly got him kicked out of Harvard, but there’s no denying the CT5-V Blackwing is an objectively cool car.

World-class performance and handling aside, the CT5-V Blackwing isn’t a car for tryhards who just want to show off. If Zuck had said he dailied a BMW M5 or Mercedes-AMG E63, there’s a good chance no one would have batted an eye. “Wealthy man buys big, fast German car” isn’t exactly newsworthy. A Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, however, is a car you have to intentionally seek out. You don’t accidentally buy a car like that, and in turn, that makes it far, far cooler. It really might be the ultimate daily driver even if multi-million-dollar hypercars are faster and less common.

The fact that Mark Zuckerberg has good taste in cars doesn’t make any of the other stuff he’s allowed Facebook to do, from autogenerating groups for white supremacists to spreading anti-Rohingya propaganda in Myanmar as the military systematically raped, murdered and burned down the houses of the Rohingya people, any less bad, though.

The International Court of Justice later ruled that Myanmar’s government had violated the Genocide Convention. Zuckerberg may not have personally pulled the trigger, but he was more than happy to make money while a people group was being exterminated and still bears responsibility for what happened.

Wait, did Mark Zuckerberg somehow manage to figure out a way to retroactively make the CT5-V Blackwing uncool?
