SiriusPoint, the global specialty insurer and reinsurer, announced the appointment of Anthony Williams (pictured above) as chief risk officer for SiriusPoint International Managing Agency (SIMA) and its international business. Williams will begin his role on Aug. 19.

Williams has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, working across various sectors including insurance carriers, the MGA sector, and the Lloyd’s market. He has held several leadership roles in risk management, such as interim chief risk officer at IQUW and chief risk officer at CNA Hardy.

Williams joins SiriusPoint from Castel Underwriting Agencies Ltd., where he also served as chief risk officer. He will report to Andreas Kull, chief risk officer for the group.

Kull noted Williams’ extensive leadership experience, strong track record in risk management, and deep market understanding.

“He will add further strength and capability to the International business at SiriusPoint and play a key role in further developing the group’s risk management framework. I am looking forward to working with Anthony as we continue to execute our growth strategy. This new appointment is further evidence that SiriusPoint’s strong performance and culture is attracting the market’s best talent,” Kull said.

In addition to his professional roles, Williams has chaired the Lloyd’s Market Association’s Committee of Actuaries in the Lloyd’s Market (CALM) and was a member of its Chief Risk Officer Committee.
