SIAA Hosts the Latest SHE Golfs Clinic in Partnership with Travelers Insurance

On Tuesday, October 1, SIAA in partnership with Travelers Insurance, hosted a SHE Golfs event at Abenaqui Country Club in Rye, NH, designed to empower novices to feel comfortable and confident while learning the game of golf.  Originally focused on women only, the SHE Golfs program now includes both women and men, remaining targeted at beginner and intermediate golfers. The event was free to seacoast area employees and the first of the SHE Golfs programs to be hosted by a national partner of Travelers.

Participants of the SHE Golfs event enjoyed a 90-minute lesson with 3 rotating stations run by golf professionals on basic golf skills such as driving, chipping and putting. Golfers then put their skills to use by playing a few holes and ended the day with a networking reception alongside SIAA and Travelers leadership. Over 20 SIAA and 5 Travelers team members participated in the clinic and/or networking reception.

Julie Braley, Chief People Officer at SIAA, participated in the clinic and reception and commented, “This is a tremendous program. The participants had a great day learning some golf basics, playing a few holes, and stepping outside their comfort zones. Watching their self-confidence grow and their excitement to play more as the clinic progressed was incredible. SIAA is thankful for our long-standing partnership and history of success with Travelers. I believe choosing SIAA as the first national network partner to participate in SHE Golfs reflects the strength of our professional relationship.”

President of the Travelers Institute, Joan Woodward created SHE Golfs in 2020 after falling in love with the sport during the pandemic. Since then, several SHE Golfs events have been held across the country and now welcome men to participate as well. Beyond offering novice golfers the skills they need to get on the course, SHE Golfs events open up doors to the countless networking opportunities to which an avid golfer has access.
