RMS hires Serakos from BMS Re to lead Model Product Management

RMS, the catastrophe risk modelling specialist company, has announced the hiring of reinsurance focused catastrophe analytics specialist Julie Serakos as its new Senior Vice President, Head of Model Product Management.

Serakos joins RMS from her most recent role at BMS Re, having spent more than 30 years’ working at reinsurance brokers around the world.

As Head of Model Product Management, Serakos will take responsibility for for global model product management across all climate, climate change, earthquake, and emerging risk models, while also overseeing global government and regulatory affairs.

She will report to Cihan Biyikoglu, Executive Vice President, Product at RMS.

Serakos most recently worked at reinsurance broker BMS Re, leading catastrophe analytics activities for more than ten years, while providing catastrophe analytics for reinsurance design, pricing, and marketing.

Before that, Serakos spent 14 years at Willis Re as Executive Vice President in a range of catastrophe management roles.

She is an Executive Director at the International Society of Catastrophe Managers, chairing the Credentials Committee and overseeing development of the Certified Specialist in Catastrophe Risk (CSCR) and Certified Catastrophe Risk Management Professional (CCRMP) exams, and Experienced Industry Professional pathway (EIP) application reviews.
