Rest Ends AIA Insurance Partnership

Rest Ends AIA Insurance Partnership

Russell Cain Updated: 12 February 2020

From 1 December 2019, Rest Superannuation transferred all their members’ insurance from AIA Australia to TAL Life Limited (TAL). If you’re a Rest member, your current coverage and benefits will change from 31 March 2020. REST AIA Vitality membership will also cease.

TAL Insurance replaces AIA Insurance

Rest, one of Australia’s largest super funds previously
enjoyed a 15-year relationship with AIA Australia. However, after reviewing
both companies’ insurance offerings, Rest felt that TAL would offer its members
more affordable and flexible insurance.

In May 2019, the super fund asked TAL to become its new life
insurance provider and started the transfer on 1 December 2019. Current Rest
insurance members will remain unaffected until 31 March 2020.

Losing your Rest AIA Vitality benefits

As noted on the REST website, if you have an active AIA Vitality membership, your access will cease on the 1ste of May 2020 because the wellness program was offered to Rest members as part of the insurance partnership with AIA.

Take note: REST insurance members only had access to
Vitality Light and not the full benefits of Vitality which includes many more discounts
and rewards. Here is a summary of what the full Vitality offering looks like.

If you have not purchased another AIA insurance product that
includes AIA Vitality before 31 March 2020, you’ll lose your exiting Vitality
status and points.
