QIB Group bolsters Far North Queensland team with leadership appointment

QIB Group Holdings Pty Ltd, one of Queensland’s largest insurance broking firms, has appointed Andrew Swaney as the general manager for Far North Queensland.

Swaney (pictured) brings over 35 years of insurance industry experience to the role, including his most recent position as regional manager for North Queensland at Marsh.

What to expect from the new QIB general manager for Far North Queensland

QIB Group CEO Tim Mathieson emphasised the strategic importance of Swaney’s appointment.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew Swaney to the QIB Group family as our new general manager,” he said. “His proven track record, coupled with his deep understanding of the local market, will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our position as a leading insurance broker in Far North Queensland.”

As the new general manager for Far North Queensland, Swaney will oversee a team of 35 insurance professionals stationed across Cairns, Mareeba, Atherton, and Innisfail. The team will focus on addressing the diverse insurance needs of businesses and individuals throughout the region.

QIB Group subsidiaries rebrand

QIB Group has also announced the rebranding of its subsidiaries JVIB and Bill Owen to Regional Insurance Brokers, which adds 12 additional offices across Queensland, expanding their reach.

This rebranding aims to enhance customer service and market presence, enabling QIB Group to provide a broader range of insurance solutions tailored to Far North Queensland’s unique needs.

The company said Swaney’s appointment and the rebranding to Regional Insurance Brokers reflect the group’s ongoing efforts to deliver comprehensive services and support to its customers in the region.
