QBE Re has announced several appointments to bolster its accident and health (A&H) division.
The reinsurer named Henry Brigstocke (pictured above) as its new head of accident and health. He will be joined by Mollie Sallery, who has been appointed assistant underwriter.
The London team is also set to expand further with the addition of Georgina Raeburn as senior underwriter and Harriet Ayre as underwriter, both of whom are scheduled to start in October. Additionally, Jack Crotty will join the team as an underwriter in November.
Brigstocke brings nearly 20 years of industry experience, with prior roles in A&H at Canopius Group and Kiln. Sallery’s background includes positions at Aon and Canopius Group.
Raeburn, who is joining from Arch, has spent a decade in the A&H sector, while Ayre is coming from Hiscox. Crotty, who most recently served as divisional director and broker for the life, accident and health department at Gallagher Re, will also be a key addition.
QBE Re’s general manager in London, Mark Jackaman, said that the company is focused on strengthening its A&H team under Brigstocke’s leadership.
Jackaman said that these appointments align with QBE Re’s growth ambitions and commitment to the product.
The newly formed team is expected to leverage their extensive experience to develop QBE Re’s A&H portfolio while maintaining the company’s standards of service and technical expertise.
Brigstocke’s appointment also marks the sixth senior hire at QBE Re in 2024, underscoring the company’s broader objectives of growth and modernization.
Earlier this year, the reinsurer announced the promotion of Amanda Lupkin to the position of vice president and head of its North America Health Practice.
Prior to her time at QBE, Lupkin held various positions in the reinsurance sector, including at DHR Management, PartnerRe, Heartland Fidelity, and Munich Re. Her extensive background in this field positions her well for her new responsibilities at QBE Re.
