Price Forbes Re has announced the appointment of Colin Kelley (pictured above) as chief commercial officer (CCO), a newly created role within the company.

In his new capacity, Kelley will collaborate with teams across insurance, reinsurance, and capital markets to develop solutions for the firm’s global clients and trading partners. The appointment is subject to regulatory and immigration approval in Bermuda.

The company noted that Kelley’s appointment aligns with Price Forbes Re’s strategy for growth in its primary markets, including Bermuda, London, and the US. Kelley will continue to report to Chris Bonard, president of Price Forbes Re.

Kelley joined the firm in 2020, bringing over 20 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance. Before joining, he held senior roles at Sompo International, including commercial lines practice leader for professional lines.

“As the correlation of capital between insurance and reinsurance continues to evolve, there are excellent opportunities for Price Forbes Re to support clients and develop our own growth. The team is full of enthusiasm for the direction in which Price Forbes Re is headed,” Kelley said.

He also expressed confidence in the team’s enthusiasm for the company’s direction and highlighted his commitment to advancing the business in his new role.

Bonard added Kelley’s industry knowledge and familiarity with Price Forbes Re’s ethos made him a strong fit for the CCO role.

“His relationship-centered approach will help us drive growth while continuing to deliver high quality solutions for our clients and trading partners across our key markets. His expertise in managing commercial lines and understanding the evolving capital dynamics in the reinsurance industry makes him a key asset within our leadership team,” Bonard said.

Earlier this month, the firm also brought in Brian Cole to serve as executive vice president and head of financial lines as part of its effort to expand its offerings in the US market.
