Perez’s Nascent Group agrees to acquire Bermuda Compliance Consultants

Nascent Group, the insurance management and reinsurance transformer company launched by industry stalwart Andre Perez that aims to reimagine the insurance-linked securities (ILS) servicing space, has agreed its first acquisition with Bermuda Compliance Consultants Ltd.

Bermuda Compliance Consultants Ltd. (BCCL) was founded and headquartered in Bermuda by well known island executive Alison Morrison.

The company provides compliance advisory services to the insurance and fund markets, an area Perez sees as an important addition to Nascent, as he builds out its initially ILS focused service offering.

During her career, Morrison has worked for and with multi-national firms and banks, giving her extensive experience in anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, risk management, policy development, corporate governance, training and operational compliance.

Perez commented on the acquisition, “BCCL brings to Nascent Group deep market expertise and service offerings on the compliance side – an important business segment for the group– which will enhance the value we deliver to our clients. I would like to extend a warm welcome to Alison on behalf of our growing global team.”

BCCL will now be rebranded as Nascent Advisory Services Ltd.

Recall that, Perez has also backed H2 Group, a Bermuda-based technology firm with a first product that promises to bring more transparency to ILS investors.

Nascent alongside H2 aim to bring a new technology-first approach to ILS servicing, with a goal to drive efficiencies throughout the marketplace.

Nascent Group’s acquisition of Bermuda Compliance Consultants Ltd. is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2023.
