Become Wealth has been selected by the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) to provide financial advice and education services to its personnel in a multi-year agreement.

The advisory firm won a tender process years ago, with this official inking consolidating a near decade-long partnership between the NZDF and Become Wealth. This new agreement also reflects the recent changes to the financial services legislation, as well as the evolving needs of the NZDF and its members.

According to a news release, Mercer NZ will also be part of the contract as the manager of the schemes. Under the multi-year agreement, Become Wealth will provide financial and investment advice as well as financial planning to past and present military personnel and their families. This includes advice on the NZDF savings schemes, with funds over management totalling over $600 million.

The advisory firm will also offer a range of comprehensive solutions tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of NZDF personnel, including investment strategies, retirement planning, mortgage advice, and insurance analysis.

Become Wealth CEO Joseph Darby said that as nearly all its successful dealings for clients are kept under wraps, it was a happy change for the firm to make this announcement.

“We are honoured to have been selected as the trusted partner to assist the individual members of the military in achieving their financial goals,” Darby said. “At Become Wealth, we understand the unique challenges faced by military families, and we are dedicated to providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to build a great financial future.”
