The Australian and New Zealand Nissan Corporation and Financial Services has announced that it is working to restore its systems and re-establish its customer support phone lines as it continues its investigation regarding a recent cyber incident that occurred on its systems.

According to the firm’s website, it was working with its global incident response team as well as relevant stakeholders in the investigation into the extent of the incident and whether any personal information of its consumers has been illegally accessed.

The update also stated that the Australian Cyber Security Centre and the New Zealand National Cyber Security Centre have been notified about the matter.

While the investigation regarding the extent of the attack continues, Nissan has advised its consumers to exercise vigilance on their accounts such as looking out for any unusual activities.

The firm also stated that some dealer systems will be impacted and advised its customers to speak directly to their local dealers to assist with queries pertaining to vehicles and services.

“Nissan is working to restore its systems as soon as possible and will continue to provide updates by its website available via nissan.com.au and nissan.co.nz,” the firm said in the announcement.

“Nissan thanks you for your understanding during this process, and asks that you have patience with us and our staff while we do our best to work through these issues.”
