Nationwide has appointed Amber Wayne (pictured) to lead its excess and surplus P&C programs.

With this appointment, Nationwide’s workers compensation programs, property programs and casualty programs will report through Wayne.

She will also retain her role as the head of Nationwide’s specialty and professional liability programs, which she has been leading since August 2022.

“Amber will be focused on continued profitable growth across our programs portfolio as well as the talent and leadership development needed to meet the changing expectations of our distribution partners and customers,” said John Lopes, executive vice president of programs & alternative risk.

Wayne has over 27 years of extensive experience in the insurance industry. This includes a proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and collaboration with multiple business units and departments.

She has held a number of key positions within Nationwide, including vice president and chief financial officer of Nationwide E&S/Specialty and vice president of operations for Nationwide Private Client. Her past experience also includes finance AVP roles supporting contract, brokerage, MLS, and private clients.

Wayne has an undergraduate degree from Oregon State University and a master’s degree from Arizona State University.
