MSIG Asia unveils revamped office in Singapore
MSIG Asia has inaugurated its revamped office, gathering all its employees at the facility to celebrate its opening. The event featured traditional Japanese Taiko drumming, in line with the company’s Japanese lineage.
The 1,670-sqm workspace spans two floors and contains a work café, nursing room, IT helpdesk workstation and three times more collaboration spaces compared to the previous office.
According to MSIG, the office was designed with a focus on sustainability and adopted an open concept. The new layout seeks to maximise the use of natural daylight and make the office interior look more expansive. For energy efficiency, MSIG installed motion sensor lights and it uses only Energy Star-certified appliances in the office. The various interior finishes are eco-certified by the Singapore Environment Council. MSIG said that approximately 80% of the previous office was reused or repurposed to reduce wastage.
The opening event was the first physical gathering for the MSIG Asia team in over two years, as most of its employees have been working from home since the pandemic broke out. Various workshops were held to entertain employees and guests, including Japanese calligraphy and upcycling workshops such as coconut husk planting and coffee cup holder making.
To commemorate the opening of its new workspace, MSIG Asia purchased a set of 12 limited-edition art prints featuring the beauty of nature. All proceeds went to the environmental non-profit organisation Conservation International, which is MSIG Asia’s biodiversity partner.
“As an insurer committed to the development of a sound future of the planet, we are proud to have a workspace that is not only friendly to the environment, but also one that showcases and supports the work of like-minded partners and individuals,” said Clemens Philippi, CEO of MSIG Asia. “To create a greater impact towards positive change, partnerships are a crucial element, and this has proven to be true for MSIG.”
