Motor solutions insurtech Tapanda expands team

Property owners win flood/storm dispute

Melbourne-based Tapanda has welcomed a number of new team members as the motor solutions insurtech “challenges the status quo of traditional technology and service models”.

Tapanda says it keeps a lid on the cost of third-party claims and car hire costs for insurers via 15 bespoke services offered to the insurance and fleet sectors.

Directors Christos Gonis and Rod Wood are “like-minded individuals from different walks of life,” who collectively have more than 50 years of insurance industry experience, Mr Gonis tells insuranceNEWS.com.au.

New to the team are Repair Management Consultant Mark Jarman, Finance Officer Samuel Faltas, Assessing Coordination Consultant Katrina Zaki, and motor assessors Con Charalambous, Peter Reeve, Lewis Cassar, and Luke Van Sebille.

The business was established in early 2019 to fill in a gap in the market, focused on cost, timeliness and quality.

“We set out to establish a business that consists of individuals that were the ‘right fit’ for the business and for our customers,” Mr Gonis said. “Tapanda means ‘everything, all inclusive’ and that is what we set out to be for our customers and partners. An organisation that provides complete solutions”

“In almost four years of operation we have had one resignation due to a semi-retirement. Our focus is and continues to be on taking care of our people, knowing that in turn they will always put our customers first. We believe that we remunerate, reward and develop our staff better than our competitors.”

Tapanda’s solutions are adaptable for individual customer bases when managing motor assessing outcomes, repair cycle times and automotive services and offers a one-stop shop for all motor assessing related services including management of storage and towing-related costs.

Tapanda says motor loss assessing – pre, mid or post repair assessment – is a core offering, and the team has experience in passenger, heavy motor, motorbikes and exotic and prestige vehicles.

Tapanda says correct management of Not At Fault third parties is its strength and it minimises the length and cost of third parties claiming directly from the insurer using their choice of repairer. The adaptable solutions make use of advanced technology to lower cost repairs and reduce off road times.

“We have developed, established and delivered technology solutions with this mindset that the industry hasn’t witnessed previously and we continue to push ourselves and our team to think, act and do things differently,” Mr Gonis said.
