Latest promotion round includes appointment of partners, special counsels, senior associates, and an associate

Law firm Moray & Agnew has announced a new round of promotions, effective from July 1, elevating 26 lawyers to various positions within the firm.

This round includes the appointment of five new partners, the promotion of 12 lawyers to special counsel, eight to senior associate, and one to associate.

Moray & Agnew’s new partners

The new partners are:


Jasmine Forsyth, Brisbane
Sheridan Landwehr, Melbourne
Lucy Munro, Newcastle
Lauren Smith, Canberra
Jane Thomson, Canberra

Forsyth (pictured above) has extensive experience in government administration, focusing on alternative dispute resolution, litigation, legal advice, and administrative law.

Landwehr specialises in employment and workplace relations law, handling contentious employment and occupational health and safety matters.

Munro concentrates on insurance law, specifically workers’ compensation and statutory workers’ compensation disputes.

Smith practices primarily in the Australian Capital Territory, working with major ACT insurers across various business lines.

Thomson focuses on administrative and employment law litigation, advising government clients.

Additionally, Hamish Thomson from the Newcastle office has been promoted to associate.

Moray & Agnew national managing partner Geoff Connellan said the latest round of appointments reflects the law firm’s commitment to diversity.

“We are delighted to recognise these lawyers on their well-deserved promotions. We acknowledge commitment and hard work for our clients and their contribution to our firm. Promotions are merit based, regardless of gender. This round of promotions does mean that 47% of our partners are female; more reflective of the society in which we live and work,” he said.

In December, the law firm bolstered its insurance expertise by promoting insurance experts, with two taking on partner roles, and two others taking on senior associate roles.
