Moda Health News – July 2022

News Release from Moda Health – July 2022

Effective Oct. 1, 2022, Moda will replace our current rental networks and travel network to the Aetna PPO Network through Aetna Signature Administrators®.  This change will apply to all individual and employer-sponsored plans in Oregon and Alaska, regardless of the renewal date.

In addition, any Out-of-Area (OOA) dependents will also be able to access this new network.

The Aetna PPO Network gives your clients access to a comprehensive network of providers nationwide, including more than 1.5 million participating physicians and ancillary providers, and over 6,000 hospitals.

What to expect

As we implement this change, here are some things to expect:

·        Member ID card updates

All members with medical coverage with us will receive updated Moda ID cards in the mail beginning the end of August with phased mailings through September. The cards will include the Aetna PPO Network logo.

A sample of the ID card will be sent out in a later communication in August.

·        Transition of Care report

Many of our members will benefit from improved access to providers in areas throughout the U.S. We anticipate minimal disruption to our membership. To help your clients understand this change, specific member impact data will be available to clients by request in August.

·        Member communication

We will provide a member communication with the mass issue of ID cards explaining the change and the reasoning for the new card. We will also outreach to any members accessing our current national wrap network that are negatively impacted by this change so that there is time to find a new provider. A copy of that letter will be available upon request in August.

·        Member Handbook updates

Updated Member Handbooks will be available in August.

·     Search for network providers

We will make it easy for your clients to search for providers in the robust Aetna PPO Network for a provider. Around August, members can visit Find Care and search the Aetna PPO Network. In the meantime, feel free to explore aetna.com/asa for access to the online provider directory.

·        Stay tuned

We will provide more information to you about this change as we get closer to the effective change date of 10/1.
