Mitch Insurance has expanded into Ontario, inaugurating its first branch in Kingston and unveiling plans to establish more.

Mitch Insurance Kingston will specialize in delivering commercial lines coverages. It will also offer a comprehensive suite of personal lines products to its clientele, according to a news release.

The Kingston branch will be led by Kris Giddy, appointed managing partner. Giddy brings over a dozen years of expertise in the insurance industry to the role.

“Mitch has an established brand, a reputation for innovation and is widely recognized as an industry leader,” said Giddy.

“I’m thrilled about the possibilities that operating my own branch will create, and love that we’re able to provide people in Kingston with another brokerage option and ultimately more choice when it comes to their insurance.”

Mitch Insurance also outlined plans to open a second branch in Ontario during the winter season, alongside intentions to open additional branches with high-achieving, entrepreneurial brokers.

“We’re excited to embark on this new journey and to continue to grow and strengthen our brand,” said Adam Mitchell, CEO of Mitch Insurance.

“We’re looking forward to supporting [Kris] and can’t wait to see where he takes our Kingston branch. When talented, ambitious people like Kris work with a great system like we have at Mitch, it paves the way for numerous opportunities and sustained success.”

Founded in 1948 as a family-owned business, Mitch Insurance serves as a marketplace for more than 70 of Canada’s top insurance companies.

The brokerage received recognition as Brokerage of the Year by the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) in 2018 and was named one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies by The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business magazine in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
