Independent specialist re/insurance broker Miller has announced the appointment of Christopher Dines (pictured above) as head of client service within a new real estate team.

Dines, based in London, started his new role on July 10. He will be responsible for developing a global real estate offering for both wholesale and direct client channels internationally.

Dines joins Miller from Gallagher, where he spent more than 13 years, most recently as an executive director in the Real Estate team. His career also includes senior and underwriting roles at HSBC, Willis Towers Watson, Aon, and RSA, bringing over three decades of experience to his new role.

As part of this new role, Dines will report to Martin Henderson, head of energy at Miller, and will collaborate closely with Miller’s construction team to establish this new line of business.

Tim Norman, managing director at Miller UK, highlighted Dines’ expertise and welcomed the 30 years of experience in the real estate insurance market that he brings.

“We see real estate as both an exciting growth opportunity for Miller and as a natural addition to our wider construction proposition, further enabling us to support the evolving needs of new and existing clients in London and internationally. Christopher will collaborate closely with the existing teams across these markets, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming him to Miller,” Norman said.

“Miller’s commitment to service excellence, collaborative culture and continued investment in talent meant this was an extremely attractive opportunity to join an independent business that is determinedly building a market-leading, differentiated offering. I’m excited to be getting started, and building out a real estate proposition that can complement Miller’s leading position in construction,” Dines said.

In other recent developments, the re/insurance broker has also bolstered its Solicitors’ professional indemnity team with a trio of new hires: Calum MacLean, Chris Jones, and Tom Davies.
