Meridian Lawyers (Meridian) has continued its appointment spree this month by welcoming two leading insurance lawyers to its principal group.

Andrew Gorman is a compulsory third party (CTP) lawyer with over three decades of insurance law experience. He has joined Meridian’s Sydney office as practice group leader of the newly established CTP team.

Scott Kennedy has 30 years of experience advising on coverage and indemnity disputes under professional indemnity, contract works and ISR policies, and litigated claims and recoveries. He also has experience in public and product liability claims – from high-volume attritional loss portfolios to class actions and catastrophic losses. He has joined Meridian as a co-practice group leader of the general insurance team.

Meridian managing director Paul Baker welcomed Gorman and Kennedy to the insurance team.

“I am delighted to welcome Andrew and Scott to Meridian and to the national insurance group. Both are recognised leaders in the legal market with an exceptionally loyal client following. Their experience and standing in the insurance industry, exemplary track record, and technical skills complement the expertise of our high calibre team and reinforce our position as a firm providing preeminent strategic legal advice and representation,” Baker said.

The law firm has promoted 12 employees across its insurance and health law teams as part of its commitment to developing its team members.

Commenting on the recent promotions, Baker said: “Each individual has excelled in their performance, established solid client relationships, and demonstrated behaviours compatible with those of future leaders of our business. It is pleasing to be able to acknowledge and reward them for their outstanding performance and dedication to exemplary client service. I congratulate them all on their achievements.”
