Merchants Insurance Group New England Office Announces Several Key New Hires

Merchants Insurance Group New England Office is proud to announce the following hires:

Mark Soraci

Mark Soraci, CPCU,CIC, has joined the Regional Leadership team as the new Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager replacing June Mittelmark who retired after 17 years with the company.

An insurance veteran with over 35 years of experience in the industry Mark joined Merchants after having most recently served as Director of Commercial Underwriting at The Hanover managing the Metro NY territory for the past seven years. Mark will oversee the daily operations of the New England Underwriting Department managing profitability and growth initiatives.

“We are delighted to have someone of Mark’s caliber and market standing join us as we continue to strengthen our independent agent value proposition in New England,” said Kevin Lasante, Regional Vice President of Merchants. “He has a customer focused mindset and brings a wealth of knowledge, agency relationships and management experience to the role”.

Jason McCarthy

Jason McCarty has been named Territory Manager for the New England Region. McCarty’s 16 years in the industry include being a leader in the Premium Finance business, working as a recruiter for a large network of independent agencies and has most recently spent time producing new business at a large independent agency in Massachusetts.

Jason will play a critical role in expanding Merchants’ distribution in the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Marissa Kilbreth CICAAIAISACSR

In addition, Marissa Kilbreth, CIC,AAI,AIS,ACSR, has joined the Merchants New England Commercial Lines Underwriting Department as a Retention Underwriter. Marissa for the past 5 years served as the Director of Marketing for one of New England’s largest insurance brokers.
