Major milestone as GAIN welcomes Aviva as an ‘Industry Transformer’ member
The Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity are delighted to welcome UK industry leaders, Aviva as an ‘Industry Transformer’ member. As the UK’s leading Insurance, wealth and retirement business, Aviva supports over 18.5 million customers across the UK, Ireland, and Canada.
By joining with GAIN, Aviva is pledging to engage, educate, and enable neurodivergent individuals to thrive in the workplace. Aviva’s core values of care, confidence and community recognise a commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive organisation; realizing the strength and benefits that comes from collaborating with employees and customers.
Aviva will also play a leading role, alongside other industry leaders, championing neuro-inclusion across insurance, investment, and financial services. As part of this transformation, Aviva will seek to bring neurodiversity into the same focus as other, equally important but currently more recognised forms of diversity and inclusion, by recognising it as an important element in achieving environmental, social and governance (ESG), corporate social responsibility (CSR) and broader diversity objectives.
Barbara Schonhofer, Co-chair of GAIN states: “There has never been a better time to be more informed about neurodiversity and the huge value to business of recognising and welcoming different ways of thinking and operating. By embracing difference, we better reflect customers and the broader society we serve. We recognise the significance of Aviva signing up as an ‘Industry Transformer’ in the GAIN journey to help welcome those of us who are neurodivergent.”
Owen Morris, MD Personal Lines at Aviva adds: “It’s a huge positive for Aviva to join GAIN. The UK insurance industry can be a wonderful place for talented neurodivergent individuals to work, with so many problems to solve and different ways to think – all bringing benefit to our customers. So, investing in neurodivergent individuals will really benefit our people, our customers and our business.”
