Lockton Re continues its cyber expansion with a new leader for the practice in North America.

The reinsurance broker has announced the appointment of Brian Lewis as senior broker leading the cyber practice in the region. Lewis will be stationed in Lockton Re’s New York office.

Lewis’ career in the insurance industry spans over two decades, marked by significant roles in broking and underwriting with a focus on cyber insurance.

Prior to joining Lockton Re, he served as cyber product leader at Zurich North America and also held positions as a cyber broker and team leader at Willis Towers Watson, in addition to roles in underwriting and claims at AIG.

Nick Durant, CEO of North America for Lockton Re, expressed confidence in Lewis’s ability to enhance the firm’s cyber insurance capabilities.

“Brian’s depth of experience in cyber insurance underwriting and broking adds specialized expertise to our expanding cyber business. With Lockton Re’s upward trajectory, we are strategically focused on investing in the right people to support the needs of our clients and markets, and Brian is an excellent addition to the growing capabilities of our cyber team around the globe,” Durant said.

Jaimie Hunter, a senior broker at Lockton Re, also commented on the addition of Lewis to the team.

“We are thrilled to have Brian onboard – his strong market reputation combined with broad experience and in-depth expertise will elevate our offering to clients and support our growing cyber presence in the marketplace,” Hunter said.

The recruitment of Lewis, Lockton Re explained, is testament to its commitment to bolstering its market position and enhancing its service offerings in the cyber insurance space.

In January, the broker announced two key additions to its London office, with Jacqueline Yeo joining as cyber analytics lead, and Annie Terry having been appointed as a broker focusing on cyber risk.

“Lockton Re’s ability to attract marketing-leading talent like Brian is a testament to the unique culture and value proposition we offer, and the success our clients and markets are seeing as a result. We are all excited to work with Brian,” Durant said.
