Lockton Re has appointed Peter Robinson as senior broker for its accident, health, and life team, under the direction of Rob Kreager, segment leader.

Robinson, who will operate out of San Francisco, brings over three decades of industry-specific experience to his new role.

Prior to joining Lockton Re, Robinson was the managing principal at Epic Reinsurance. His career also includes significant roles at Reinsurance Advisory Services, Presidio Excess of Aon Managed Care, and Jardine Insurance Brokers International, Ltd.

Robinson shared his perspective on his new role as he bolsters the reinsurance broker’s practice.

“I am delighted to join the Lockton Re team,” Robinson said. “Lockton Re’s access to industry leading resources for analytics and scope around innovative risk structures in the US and global reinsurance markets will be critical in addressing the unprecedented pressure the US healthcare system is facing relating to the cost of care.”

Nick Durant, CEO of Lockton Re North America, commented on the hiring and what it means for the accident, health, and life team.

“We continue to grow the depth and breadth of our teams by hand selecting talent to fit the unique culture of Lockton Re, which translates into success for our clients, and Peter is an excellent addition to our growing accident, health, and life team,” he said.

Rob Kreager, overseeing the accident, health, and life segment, also expressed his enthusiasm about the new hire.

“We are thrilled to welcome Peter to the team,” Kreager said. “Our accident, health, and life client relationships continue to expand at a rapid pace. Peter brings a diverse set of experience across the accident, health, and life ecosystem that will further strengthen our capabilities and network.”

“Since we launched the accident, health, and life offering two years ago under the leadership of Rob Kreager, the team has developed a powerful value proposition for our clients, and with the addition of Peter, the strength of the team is well aligned with the double-digit growth we’ve seen across the whole of Lockton Re,” Durant said.
