It doesn’t matter if you win by an inch or you’re standin’ by it, when fool’s runnin’ a Honda 2000, you’re family. This supercharged widebody Honda S2000 has been given the full Fast and Furious treatment, and it’s time for you to add it to your collection. It might even have a hundred grand under the hood. This wild machine is coming up for auction on July 13 at Mecum Auctions’ Florida Summer Special sale, and if you’re the high bidder, you and your dad can roll together when he gets out of prison. You won’t even have to put down the pink slip to your Jetta. It’s all good.
Is The Honda S2000 A Modern Classic?

According to the auction listing, this car was built as a show car when it was brand new in the early 2000s. After all these years it still shows just 2,127 miles on the odometer. With custom HRE wheels, a Mastergrade widebody kit, tons of carbon fiber and a slick custom airbrushed paintjob, this S2000 is ready to break necks at any car show in the country. Whether you get positive feedback or derision from the Boomers in lawn chairs, it’ll be the talk of the town.

There aren’t any dyno sheets included with the sale, but considering there’s a giant supercharger under the hood (with an air-to-water intercooler) and a pair of nitrous bottles mounted in the trunk, this car has the potential to be pretty damn fast. I have enjoyed every minute I ever spent in a Honda S2000, and while this one is, ahem, an acquired taste, it’s probably still damn fun to drive. If you don’t mind people staring at you slack-jawed everywhere you go, this could be the car for you.

Low-mile AP1-generation S2000s seem to be commanding somewhere in the realm of $35,000 lately, and are probably worth every penny of that. There’s no telling where this one will end up. Are the custom touches going to add value for the bidders? Is it worth paying extra for a two-decade-old show car? I’ll guess this will sell for less than a regular S2000, and it’ll be a total bargain at 25 grand. Bid early, bid often.
