Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) policyholders now have the option to use Digicel Fiji’s mobile wallet, Digicel MyCash, to pay their premiums. This development comes through a partnership agreement between the two companies.
According to a report from The Fiji Times, the purpose of the collaboration is to enhance LICI Fiji’s services and facilitate greater accessibility to insurance by offering a streamlined online experience.
Through the Digicel MyCash App, individuals gain access to a secure method for managing their daily financial transactions via their mobile devices. This includes the ability to directly pay their LICI Fiji premiums from their MyCash wallet. Additionally, the app enables international money transfers, facilitating both overseas fund receipt and payment, all within a single, user-friendly platform.
LICI Fiji’s general manager of operations, Pradeep Shenoy, emphasized that this partnership marks a significant stride toward making insurance more attainable for the people of Fiji. He pointed out that the partnership with Digicel Fiji MyCash complements existing payment options, such as online transfers to LICI accounts, payments at various banks and post offices in Fiji, and other electronic mediums.
“The partnership with Digicel Fiji MyCash will provide yet another convenient way for them to pay premiums from the comfort of their homes. It has been a continuous endeavour of LICI to provide a better and enriching experience to our esteemed customers,” Shenoy said.
He also mentioned the launch of a mobile app last year that offers customers comprehensive information about their policies on smartphones, adding that they plan to introduce ‘e-Policies’ soon to replace the need for physical paper policies.
