Liberty Specialty Markets recognises emerging artists with LSM Art Award

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, is proud to announce the winners of the Liberty Specialty Markets Art Award. The award, now in its fourth rotation since its inception in 2018, continues to support and celebrate the creativity and innovation of emerging artists.

This year’s winners include:

Broker’s Choice Award, £1000: Asha Peacock for “Baby Shoes”Expert Panel Vote, £3000: Naomi Stapleton (for her series of works)Staff Vote, £2000 (including commission): Belinda Wrigley for “Late Summer Night”

The LSM Art Award, designed to bridge the gap between art school and the commercial art world, has supported a total of 35 emerging artists to date. This year’s cohort comprises 12 talented individuals from renowned institutions such as The University of Brighton School of Art, The Art Academy London, and Kingston School of Art.

Each artist receives comprehensive support from the programme through development opportunities including mentoring, networking, and workshops covering topics like personal branding and gallery relationships, totalling over 50 hours on average. The programme, overseen by the LSM Art Committee, aims to equip artists with the necessary skills to thrive in the competitive art market.

Commenting on the award, Emma White, Underwriter, Fine Art and Specie at LSM, said: “We are delighted to recognise and support the outstanding talent showcased by these emerging artists. As a global fine art insurer with dedicated Fine Art teams in London, Europe and the US, our commitment goes beyond protecting existing works and collections, and supporting artists as they begin their careers is vital to supporting a vibrant and sustainable future in the art sector.”

In addition to the awards, LSM also showcases the artworks of participating artists in its London office and collaborates with local schools to inspire creativity among young talents.
