Liberty Mutual Insurance has formed a dedicated practice aimed at serving mid-sized life sciences companies.
Leading the unit is Tory Agnich (pictured), who was appointed as chief underwriting officer for middle market life sciences. Previously, Agnich served as senior vice president for life sciences at Chubb.
The biology major will be in charge of developing the team tasked with delivering solutions based on a deep understanding of the risks life sciences companies face.
“Liberty Mutual’s middle market operation is committed to providing comprehensive insurance solutions to mid-size companies through teams that understand the needs of specific vertical industries, like life sciences,” Liberty Mutual North America middle market president Marc Orloff said.
“Tory’s 24 years of experience leading life sciences underwriting made her the ideal candidate to build and lead a high-performing team creating innovative multi-line products and services tailored to that industry.”
Aside from life sciences, Liberty Mutual also has other teams focused on specific vertical markets, including private equity, energy, construction, and public entity.
“Amit’s impact on our organization for the last several years has been significant – he is an empathetic leader with a robust knowledge of our business and the insurance industry overall,” USRM president Hamid Mirza said at the time.
“I am excited to leverage his expertise as we continually evolve and innovate our claims organization to provide superior service to our customers and agents and a high-performing environment for our claims team.”
Globally, Liberty Mutual employs more than 45,000 people in 29 countries and economies.
