LexisNexis Risk Solutions launches first Asia Pacific center in India

LexisNexis Risk Solutions has launched its first data center in India, as part of a strategic bid to expand its data center footprint in the Asia Pacific.

The US-based data and analytics firm said the data center — which will serve customers in India exclusively — will help enterprises in the country meet the rapid rise in demand for data while also boosting their identity verification and fraud detection capabilities.

With the new data center, Indian companies get access to ThreatMetrix and BehavioSec — the data brokerage company’s device and digital identity-focused offerings. LexisNexis Risk Solutions said that by layering behavioral biometrics with local digital identity intelligence, customers in India can detect and block fraud in near real-time while building trust with genuine end users.

“India is an important market for us. We’re pleased to offer our customers anti-fraud and identity verification solutions they need to meet their complex fraud prevention needs,” said Stephen Topliss, vice president for fraud and identity at LexisNexis Risk Solutions.

The internet and e-commerce sector in India is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the country, and its consumer digital economy is expected to be a US$1 trillion market by 2025, according to a report by India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The report emphasized that increasing smartphone usage is driving growth in online activities such as e-commerce and digital payments.

“Companies are using the power of data to capture valuable insights, transform experiences, drive revenue growth and reduce risk. However, it also means businesses share a greater responsibility to protect customer data and ensure privacy with a reliable infrastructure in the digital ecosystem,” Topliss said. “Launching the data center has demonstrated our commitment to helping Indian businesses keep pace and thrive in an ever-changing regulatory environment.”
