Latin Re has acquired licensing rights for RiskExplorer, an advanced risk management software developed by Ultimate Risk Solutions (URS).

The move makes Latin Re the first broker in the Brazilian reinsurance market to utilize this technology, which offers modeling capabilities for risk analysis and reinsurance pricing.

By integrating RiskExplorer, Latin Re said it wants to provide more precise and comprehensive risk assessments to its clients.

“We are pleased to be the first Brazilian broker in Latin America to enter into this partnership with RiskExplorer,” said Juliana Oliveira, MD of structured solutions. “We now have the best global expertise combined with the excellence of our local team to offer more effective solutions and create value for our clients.”

Based in São Paulo, Latin Re was established in 2019 and operates as an independent entity with a strong portfolio of global clients. Its service offering includes constant monitoring, quick responses, efficient post-placement support, and claims management to minimize financial and operational impacts

Reinsurance specialist tapped to leverage new software

In addition to acquiring new software, Latin Re has appointed Danielle Souza as reinsurance specialist.

Souza joins Latin Re with a strong background in actuarial sciences. She has held roles at Porto Seguro, Aon Re, and Fairfax Brasil. She also holds a postgraduate degree in data analysis and artificial intelligence.

This level of expertise will be instrumental in leveraging RiskExplorer to optimize reinsurance structures and contracts, according to Latin Re’s news release.

Souza commented on her new role and said she is “confident and ready to drive positive results.”

“I am excited about the opportunity to implement a tool that provides optimization analyses of structures in automatic contracts, their volatility, and capital relief solutions, aiming to offer more robust solutions to our clients,” said Souza.
