Chris Kirby (pictured) has come on board Starwind Specialty Insurance Services in North Carolina as program president for its newly launched political violence and terrorism (PVT) program.
Starwind PVT is aimed at providing comprehensive coverage for physical damage, business interruption, and liability arising from terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, riots, workplace violence, and other political violence risks, with a focus on non-US assets.
An industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Kirby brings extensive expertise to Starwind where he will build a managing general agent supported by both domestic and international A+ rated insurance and reinsurance providers.
“We are seeing increased demand for PVT coverage driven by political and economic uncertainty, making this a critical juncture for introducing Starwind PVT,” he commented.
“Our program is compelling in terms of both market position and access to proprietary technology. With one of the most advanced automated underwriting platforms in operation today, we are proud of our ability to provide new, alternative distribution opportunities to our partners.”
Starwind president Brian Norman, meanwhile, pointed to Kirby’s appointment as part of the firm’s growth strategy.
Norman noted: “Starwind is thrilled to partner with Chris to expand our domestic and international product portfolio with a specialty insurance product that sets a new standard for innovation and excellence.”
Steven Pacholick, chief program officer at Starwind, also emphasized the value that the new PVT offering will bring to policyholders.
“We are confident that this PVT product will provide exceptional value to insureds, helping them to protect what matters, supported by top-notch service and support,” he said.
