IT’S A WRAP – CUSTOMISE YOUR CARAVAN WITH VINYL WRAPPING

IT’S A WRAP – CUSTOMISE YOUR CARAVAN WITH VINYL WRAPPING

As a nation we love our caravans and there are currently more than a million caravans and motorhomes in the UK. Caravan holidays have always been popular but with the current cost-of-living crisis, and an increasing desire to find sustainable ways to travel, they are becoming even more so, for all ages; for example, recent data shows that more millennials are choosing caravan holidays.

A lot of pride goes into making sure they look good and caravan wrapping is a great way of changing the appearance of your caravan without investing too much money; it’s not permanent, so you can always remove it if you ever decide to sell your caravan or decide on a different look. You can personalise it, or just add a small detail that makes it stand out from the rest, the choice is yours. As we love our caravans here at The Insurance Emporium, we thought we’d look into caravan wrapping so that you don’t have to!

WHAT IS CARAVAN WRAPPING?

Not to be confused with present wrapping (so put away your massive roll of sticky tape), caravan wrapping is when a thin layer of vinyl film is spread over your caravan. It’s commonly used on commercial vehicles, as well as on domestic cars, and it not only makes your caravan look good, it also makes it stand out and provides protection against the inevitable scratches and stone chips that happen when out and about, as well as against sun damage. It’s often cheaper than painting and could also be seen as a theft deterrent, as thieves may be less likely to steal a caravan that is more easily identifiable.

VINYL WRAPPING THE EXTERIOR OF YOUR CARAVAN

This is a quick and easy way to give your caravan a facelift; it can smarten it up, giving it a fresh, new look while making it more individual, reflecting your personality. It’s also practical, particularly when you’re trying to locate your caravan after heading out for the day and coming back to a campsite full of identical caravans!
You can choose between various patterns and make it as simple or as wacky as possible; some people choose flowers or birds, others opt for a couple of decals or some text, while some might go for full-on landscapes.

WRAPPING THE INTERIOR OF YOUR CARAVAN

You might feel inspired to brighten up the interior of your caravan, once you’ve done the outside. Using vinyl wrap on interior cupboards, doors and furniture; even walls and floors, is a quick and effective way of sprucing up a tired interior. There are lots of themes to choose from; you might want a retro design with lots of pastel colours, or a sleek modern design with one colour scheme. You could go for wood effect, leather or marble, plain colours or patterns, there are so many to choose from.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO WRAP YOUR CARAVAN?

The cost of wrapping a caravan can vary from around £1,000 to £10,000 but it depends on a number of things:

The type and size of your caravan, e.g. A smaller vehicle with smooth edges will be cheaper than a larger one with jagged/awkward edges.
The quality of the vinyl used.
The colours used.
The pattern/lettering.
If your pattern is bespoke or off-the-shelf.
