In time for International Women’s Day, Insurance Business has named 80 women from Australia’s and New Zealand’s respective insurance industries as its Elite Women of 2024.

How did Insurance Business identify this year’s Elite Women?

The selection process for the annual Elite Women list involved an invitation to insurance professionals across both countries to nominate distinguished female leaders. These nominations required detailed accounts of the nominees’ achievements and contributions to the insurance industry over the past year, including specific instances of professional success and industry influence.

After receiving the nominations, the Insurance Business editorial team undertook a thorough review to assess each nominee’s impact on the industry. This process led to the final selection of 80 women, each of whom has made significant contributions to the sector.

As part of the evaluation process, Insurance Business engaged Natasha Fenech, a respected figure in the industry, for an independent review of the report’s findings.

Fenech, who serves as the group CEO and managing director of Avant Mutual and holds a non-executive director position at the Insurance Council of Australia, provided expert insights into the significance of the achievements highlighted in the report.
