Insurance Business has highlighted several leading insurance companies in Australia and New Zealand for their significant commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).

These companies have successfully embedded DE&I principles into their corporate practices and cultures.

The recognition, known as the 5-Star DE&I award, was based on employee feedback. The awarded companies demonstrated a strong commitment to:

fostering inclusive and supportive workplaces;
building a workforce reflective of the communities they serve; and
aligning their initiatives with strategic DE&I objectives.

How did Insurance Business identify the most diverse insurance companies in Australia and New Zealand for 2024?

To identify the companies with the most impactful DE&I programs, Insurance Business conducted a comprehensive 15-week evaluation.

Initially, insurance firms in Australia and New Zealand were invited to share their DE&I initiatives from the previous year.

Interviews with DE&I professionals provided insights into the industry standards and helped determine which companies met or surpassed these benchmarks.

Following the nomination review, employees were surveyed to assess the effectiveness of their companies’ DE&I programs. Companies that received a score of 4 or higher out of 5 were awarded the 5-Star DE&I recognition.
