InsTech appoints new chief executive officer

Insurance Technologies, LLC (InsTech) has appointed Laird Rixford as its newest CEO. Rixford succeeds David Fenimore, who now serves as chairman of InsTech.

“In the last few years alone, InsTech has reached tremendous new milestones which have solidified our position as a best-in-class solutions provider and trusted partner to the annuity and life insurance service sectors,” said David Fenimore. “As we look to introduce a larger audience to the benefits of our platform, we are confident that Laird’s distinguished expertise in sales and marketing makes him the right leader to steward the company through new growth.”

“Thanks to David’s leadership and the full team’s efforts, InsTech is strongly positioned to disrupt traditional technology solutions in the annuities, life, and long-term care insurance markets in a way that empowers carriers and their distributors to compete in a rapidly changing environment,” commented Rixford on his appointment.

Rixford added that InsTech “sits at the intersection of insurance and financial technology, driving wealth technology solutions that have digitally transformed the sales journeys across all lines of insurance, retirement, and investment products,” and that he is excited to be working with the team to capture a greater share of the market opportunity that lies before InsTech.

With 25 years of experience in the financial services and insurance technologies industries, Rixford was most recently serving as the CEO of Insurance Technologies Corporation (ITC) in Texas. In that role, he led ITC through multiple acquisitions and helped navigate an exit for the company’s shareholders in 2020.
