In Memoriam: Patricia A. Tiberio, 1932-2023

She was the former owner and co-founder of Val J. Scatolini Insurance Company

Patricia Ann Tiberio (formerly Scatolini) passed away on Friday December 29, 2023 at Lifecare of Wilbraham.

Patricia A Tiberio

She was born in New Milford, CT on March 29, 1932, to Peter and Gertrude (Wohler) Tiberio. Pat and her family moved to Springfield, MA when she was a child and she remained there until she moved to Wilbraham in 1967. Pat was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School. Along with her former husband, Pat was a founder of the Val J. Scatolini Insurance Company in 1962 which is still a family-owned business. Pat spent nearly 60 years in the insurance field, and prior to this, was a successful real estate agent. She was a spiffy dresser who was known to speak her mind!

Nothing was more important to Pat than her family. She loved holidays and family celebrations. For decades, she opened her home to the friends of her children who, even as adults, still rave about her meatballs and chicken cutlets. She never missed a Minnechaug sporting event while son Bill was playing. And she attended many events of her granddaughters. She was extremely proud of them as each one reached the age of Confirmation in the Catholic Church. Pat also loved the New England Patriots, and she did not want to be disturbed during their games!

Pat is survived by her son, Bill Scatolini (Tracy) and their daughters Mia, Jenna, and Ava; her daughter Carol Scatolini (Pat Gardner); son, Steven Scatolini (Lauren); and her nephew (who she raised as a son), Frank Pugliano (Rose) and their daughters; (who affectionately referred to her as “Grandma Pat”) Christina Mouawad (George) and Gianna O’Connor (Chris), her brother William Tiberio (Barbara), Medina, Ohio; special family friend, Andres Lopez as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also pre-deceased by the father of her children, Val Scatolini, and her sister, Barbara Tiberio.
