IMA Financial Group has opened its largest East Coast office at 1155 Avenue of the Americas in New York City.

The new 10,000-square-foot office is situated on the 33rd floor of a building managed by The Durst Organization, as the brokerage marks another step in IMA’s growth strategy.

Since 2020, IMA Financial Group has entered into 28 strategic partnership agreements with various firms in the commercial insurance sector. The firm’s New York presence was initially established through a 2022 partnership with York International Agency LLC.

Unlike conventional mergers, IMA explains that it focuses on forming strategic partnerships that align with its vision of creating what it dubs “Broker of the Future,” emphasizing investments in technology, training, and support.

According to a news release, the building at 1155 Avenue of the Americas, a 42-story office tower in Midtown Manhattan, is notable for its LEED Gold Rating for Existing Buildings Operations Maintenance (EBOM). It hosts a range of prominent tenants such as Global Relay, Perkins Coie, Jenner & Block, Cornell University, and Verizon.

“Commercial insurance touches every industry in America, and we’re proud to put down roots in the world’s financial capital to expand our reach and stay true to our mission to be relentlessly client-focused and driven to make a difference in our communities,” said Michael Bodack, president of IMA New York.

Andrew Krantz, executive vice president at IMA Financial Group, also highlighted the company’s ethos with the opening of this flagship office.

“IMA has repeatedly proven that an agency can be values-driven, community-focused and achieve great success. That model has always worked on the local level, and we’re out to prove that it can flourish in New York City,” Krantz said.

The brokerage says that the new office reflects IMA’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and flexibility, aiming to meet the diverse needs of its clients, leverage the latest insurtech innovations, and engage positively with the New York City community.
