Huntington Bancshares, the parent company of The Huntington National Bank, has announced that Angie Klett (pictured above) has been named president of Huntington Insurance.

In this new role, Klett is tasked with leading the growth of the insurance business and will oversee its various branches, including commercial insurance, employee benefits, life insurance, personal lines insurance, and title and captive insurance.

Before her new role at Huntington, Klett served as senior vice president of corporate development at Nationwide Insurance. Her responsibilities there included leading mergers and acquisitions, ventures, and strategic partnerships.

According to a news release, Klett also headed Nationwide Brokerage Solutions. Her previous roles at Nationwide covered a wide range of areas including finance, procurement, product development, technology, and business transformation. Klett, who holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, is based in Central Ohio.

Brant Standridge, president of consumer and regional banking at Huntington, highlighted Klett’s appointment as part of its ongoing commitment to growth.

“Huntington Insurance serves customers across almost every line of business, and we are committed to its continued growth. Angie brings strong industry expertise, a growth mindset, and a well-rounded leadership experience to this key role,” Standridge said.

This leadership change comes as Mary Beth Sullivan prepares for retirement from Huntington on July 1 after nearly two decades with the company.

“Mary Beth has played a fundamental role in shaping the growth and expansion of Huntington Insurance. We are well-positioned to continue providing exceptional insights, expertise, and service to our insurance customers,” Standridge said.
