Amid a range of promotions, Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd. (HSCM), the reinsurance, insurtech, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and transportation focused investment manager, has appointed Gokul Sudarsana as the Chief Investment Officer for HSCM’s life insurance investment strategy.

Sudarsana takes on investment responsibilities for life insurance and reinsurance linked investments at Hudson Structured alongside his existing role as Chief Actuary of HSCM Bermuda.

He joined HSCM in 2020 as a Managing Director of HSCM’s reinsurance investment team and since then has been instrumental in the development and expansion of the managers life ILS investment strategies.

The new position will see Sudarsana lead HSCM’s investing across life insurance and he will continue to serve as a key member across all of the HSCM reinsurance investing activities.

HSCM noted that Sudarsana played an instrumental role in the recent launch of HS Mohawk Fund I LP, HSCM’s new life insurance-focused continuation fund for which the manager raised over $175 million.

Sudarsana’s additional role comes amid a wave of promotions at Hudson Structured, as the investment manager continues to recognise the contribution of individuals and build-out its staff structure.

Thomas Cantore has been promoted to General Counsel of HSCM, having joined HSCM as a Managing Director in 2021 from Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.

“Tom’s appointment as General Counsel reflects the increased responsibilities he has earned since joining the firm, advising across all HSCM’s investment strategies as well as its corporate matters,” Michael Millette, Managing Partner of HSCM commented. “I look forward to continuing to work alongside him to execute the Firm’s investment and corporate initiatives.”

He will continue to be part of the HSCM Ventures team, while at the same time expanding his work alongside HSCM COO, Jeff Sangster, to lead non-investment functions and strategic initiatives.

A range of other promotions have also been effected, including: Kristin Hermann from Vice President to Managing Director, (Fund Controller Transport and Maritime); Lindsay Gill, from Associate to Vice President (Investor Relations); Brittany Hanavan, from Associate to Vice President (Compliance); and Yiannis Dalakouras, from Analyst to Associate (Maritime).

“These promotions reflect the dedication, hard work, and exceptional talents of each individual,” Millette said. We are proud to have such outstanding professionals as part of our team, and I have no doubt that they will continue to excel in their new roles.”
