How Hub expanded its Ontario commercial team
Editor’s Note: This article has been corrected to note Ai Insurance Organization’s London, Ont., office still exists and was not included as part of Hub’s acquisition, as an initial version of this article stated. Also, to clarify, Royston Fernandes is an owner and managing partner in Ai Insurance Organization’s London, Ont., office. He is not part of the two-member team that went to Hub.
Brad Beer from the London, Ont., office of Ai Insurance Organization will be joining Hub International Limited, the global insurance brokerage announced last week.
Ai Insurance Organization is a full-service insurance brokerage based in Mississauga, Ont. It offers commercial insurance covering builder’s risk, cyber, E&O, contract bonds and surety, among others. It serves clients across Canada.
Ai Insurance Organization expanded its operations into London, Ont., in July 2021, establishing an office at that time with Beer and his two-member team of commercial brokers, Chris Tower and Royston Fernandes.
Ai Insurance Organization’s London, Ont., office still exists, the brokerage confirmed with Canadian Underwriter. Royston Fernandes is the owner and managing partner of Ai Insurance Organization’s London office.
Hub said the deal brings Beer and his two-member team over to their brokerage.
“We are thrilled to bring Brad and his team to Hub which will further grow and strengthen our commercial presence in London,” said Susan Murphy, CEO of Hub Ontario.
Before joining Ai Insurance as director of commercial insurance in the London office, Beer was a commercial account manager for more than 18 years at McConville Omni Insurance Brokers.
“Brad Beer has more than two decades of experience in commercial insurance, having built professional relationships segmented for automotive dealerships, residential and commercial real estate, residential and commercial builders, and the manufacturing sector,” Hub commented. “His industry expertise in real estate, hospitality and construction supports Hub’s Specialty practices by complementing and strengthening its existing capabilities.
“Additionally, Brad Beer has deep ties in the London community, having held board positions with London Health Sciences Foundation and recently chairing the membership committee at London Hunt & Country Club.
“Brad Beer continues to remain active with the Ontario Hockey League as an officiating manager.”
